What's the difference between a deep clean and a regular clean?
A deep clean is everything in a regular (recurring) clean plus the detail work that builds up over months: baseboards, door frames and doors hand-wiped, ceiling fans, vents and blinds dusted, window sills and tracks, shower and tub soap scum and grout scrubbed, kitchen cabinet fronts fully wiped, and the inside of the microwave and oven (oven on request).
How long does a deep clean take?
Roughly half again as long as a regular visit for the same home. Most recurring visits for a 2-3 bedroom home take about 2.5 to 4 cleaner-hours, so a deep clean of that home is often around 4 to 6 cleaner-hours, depending on condition and how many cleaners are sent.
When should I book a deep clean?
Common times are before the heating season (dust settles on vents, radiators and baseboard heaters once the furnace runs), in spring, before hosting family for the holidays, before listing a home for sale, or as the first visit of a recurring plan. If the home is empty because you're moving, book a move-out clean instead; it adds the insides of cabinets, drawers, the fridge and the oven.
Is a deep clean the same as the first visit of a recurring plan?
Yes. On a recurring plan your first visit is a deep clean at the deep-clean price, and every visit after that is the lower recurring price (for example $269 first, then $165 every two weeks for a 3-bedroom home).
What isn't included in a deep clean?
Exterior windows, gutters, garages and decks; moving heavy furniture; mold remediation, pests, biohazards or hoarding situations; anything that needs a ladder taller than a two-step stool; laundry and organizing.
